National Child Contact Centre Week 2026 – Day 3: Professional Focus

Working Together to Put Children First

As we continue to celebrate National Child Contact Centre Week 2026, today’s theme is “Professional Focus.”

Behind every successful contact arrangement is a team of professionals working together with one shared goal: achieving the best possible outcomes for children.

Supporting children and families is rarely the responsibility of one person or one organisation. It requires collaboration, communication, and a shared commitment to keeping children’s needs at the centre of decision-making.

The Importance of Partnership Working

Children benefit most when professionals work together effectively.

Social workers, family support workers, contact supervisors, foster carers, schools, health professionals, CAFCASS officers, legal representatives, and contact centres all play important roles in supporting children and families during what can often be challenging times.

Each professional may see a different part of a child’s journey, but by working collaboratively, a more complete picture can be formed, helping to ensure that decisions are made in the child’s best interests.

Creating Safe and Positive Contact Experiences

Contact centres play an important role within this wider network of support.

Our role extends beyond simply providing a venue. We help create safe, structured, and child-focused environments where children and families can spend meaningful time together.

This includes:

  • Providing safe and welcoming facilities
  • Supporting positive family interactions
  • Managing risk appropriately
  • Maintaining professional boundaries
  • Communicating effectively with referring professionals
  • Producing clear and objective records where required

These elements help contribute to positive experiences for children while supporting wider care planning and family support arrangements.

Professional Standards Matter

Families and professionals need confidence that contact services operate to high standards.

This is why quality, consistency, safeguarding, staff training, and accountability remain central to effective service delivery.

At springcare, we are committed to maintaining professional standards while ensuring that our services remain warm, welcoming, and child-centred.

Professional practice and compassionate support are not separate goals—they work hand in hand to create positive outcomes for children and families.

A New Resource for Professionals and Families

This year’s National Child Contact Centre Week is especially significant for springcare as it coincides with the opening of the new Springcare Family Support Centre at 211 Fore Street, Edmonton, N18 2TZ.

The centre has been developed to provide a safe, welcoming, and professional environment that supports children, families, and referring professionals alike.

With dedicated contact rooms, a sensory room, admin office, and purpose-designed family spaces, the centre reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality services that place children’s needs at the heart of everything we do.

Looking Ahead to Our Grand Opening

On Friday 26 June 2026, we look forward to welcoming professionals, partners, local authorities, and members of the community to our Grand Opening event.

We are honoured that the Mayor of Enfield Emma Supple will be joining us as we celebrate this exciting milestone and officially opening the centre. We will also be giving our gift bags to the local community.

Putting Children First Together

While today’s theme is Professional Focus, the message remains the same as every day of National Child Contact Centre Week:

Children achieve the best outcomes when the adults around them work together.

Through strong partnerships, shared expertise, and a commitment to high-quality practice, we can create safe environments, positive experiences, and brighter futures for the children and families we support.

Because putting children first is something we achieve together.
