Testimonials

  • Springcare is a remarkable place to work, learn and grow. I had the opportunity to do the first placement for my Masters at Springcare.

To begin with, staff at Springcare were very supportive and helped me settle down in no time. My learning was well rounded as I got exposure to varied areas of social work such as children social work, mental health social work and disability social work. As this was my first placement, I really enjoyed putting theories and concepts into practice.

My supervision sessions were very helpful and assisted me in getting a well-rounded understanding of the practice. The working environment was very encouraging and nurturing and geared towards promoting learning.

As I completed my placement during the pandemic, the office took extra care to always ensure my safety and wellbeing. Based on my experience, I see Springcare as a great place for students to gain an understanding of social work practice.

  • I completed my first placement at Springcare as part of my social work degree.

This was in many ways the perfect placement to have as my first placement before going to a statutory setting in my final year. I got a broad experience of service users both from a 1:1 support perspective and from an organisational perspective in bringing in care for people and building support plans and risk assessments. It also gave me an insight and direct experience in some of aspects of child protection such as supervised contact, unannounced visits, and family support. This also allowed for me to start to hone my report writing skills. It has a unique combination of support and respite care as well as the outsourced statutory roles.

Juliet is an extremely passionate social worker with a wealth of experience and for me she brings social work to life through her experiences of the job. She is a fantastic guide, mentor to anyone starting their social work journey and she is a lot of fun which is important in this job.

There was some adversity when I was there but in all honesty that has got me to where I am now, having just completed my third year in front line social work at Islington Children’s Services. And what I enjoyed a lot was the autonomy Juliet gave me as she trusts you.
