Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual who would like to be part of a growing organisation to work with children who may have ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Condition, physical disabilities and other disabilities.

The specific requirements of each assignment will vary and these will be discussed with you before you accept the assignment.

As a carer you must be sensitive and responsive to the race, culture, religion, age, disability, gender and sexuality of the client who is receiving care and their representatives.

You will provide care according to the client’s specific diagnosis and needs.

Your duties will include:

  • Communicating effectively with the client, and Springcare

  • Keeping accurate, factual written accounts of your time with the client

  • Assisting with Medication – Carers Policy, as outlined in the handbook

  • An awareness of the client’s emotional and spiritual needs

  • Observing and following the Springcare Health and Safety policy

  • Adhering to company policies and procedures at all times

  • Reporting & Recording as per company procedure

Your duties may include:

  • Washing and bathing use of bath aids

  • Exercise as appropriate to the client’s abilities Moving and handling

  • Assist clients to fulfill activities of daily living e.g. working, leisure, education

  • Assist with medications as prescribed

  • Dealing with correspondence and financial matters as requested.

  • Day to day household tasks e.g. changing beds, laundry, ironing, shopping

  • Respect for client confidentiality and discretion at all times

You may be required to perform tasks such as:

  • Meal preparation

  • Household duties which may include: Laundry, dusting, vacuuming, tidying, bed making

  • keeping the refrigerator clean and ensuring the contents have not expired

  • Escorting clients to appointments

  • Making transport arrangements

  • Any other duties which may be part of a specific assignment Shopping – ensuring all receipts are kept

Knowledge and Expertise:

  • General care experience

  • Ideally some experience in caring for clients in their own home

Skills and Attributes:

  • Team Player

  • Great communication

  • Good writing skills

  • Hardworking

  • Willing to learn

DBS

Registered online with the update service, if not a new DBS will be carried out

Experience

Support Worker : 2 years – Working with children ( autistic or complex health) (Preferred)

Qualification

NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (Preferred)

Location

Enfield / Chingford / Haringey (Preferred)

Salary

£11.90 – £17.85 (dependent on expertise / qualification) Base rate. We offer hourly commission based on assignment. Extra pay for bank holidays and sundays.

Part-time / full time [Mornings, evening and weekends]
