Providing personal care usually involves assisting Service Users with aspects of their daily living, such as using the toilet, washing, dressing, eating, and drinking. This type of support should be provided by trained staff who have compassion and respect the privacy and dignity of individuals. Personal care should be based on the assessed needs of the Service User, and made to ensure that people have their independence for as long as possible.

Springcare supports Service Users in promoting self-care, achieving personal hygiene goals, and ultimately promoting health & safety. Carers also ensure that they respect the Service User’s right to dignity and privacy. For Service Users who lack the mental capacity to give consent to support with personal hygiene, decisions will be made, and actions taken in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
