1. Healthcare Funding

If you have complex, ongoing healthcare needs, you may be eligible for Continuing Healthcare (CHC), a package of care arranged and funded entirely by the NHS.

Eligibility is determined by an assessment, which looks at every part of your needs before recommending the level of care you should receive. CHC is non means-tested but the qualification criteria are strict. If you are eligible, you may be given the option of a Personal Health Budget.

2. Social Care Funding

Every one of us is entitled to an assessment of our care needs from our local authority.

Social care funding is means tested. So if you are eligible for social care, a financial assessment will establish if you need to fund all or part of the cost.

Children:

Under Section 17 Children Act 1989, the local authority have a duty to assess a child in need.

A child will be considered in need if:

  • They are unlikely to achieve or maintain or to have the opportunity to achieve or maintain a reasonable standard of health or development without provision of services from the Local Authority;

  • Their health or development is likely to be significantly impaired, or further impaired, without the provision of services from the Local Authority;

  • They have a disability.

Direct Payments

Rather than accepting a care package from your local authority, you can request your funding as direct payments into your bank account and use them to pay the care provider of your choice. If necessary, you can top up the payments yourself to cover any shortfall.

3. Privately Funded Care

If you are deemed ineligible for social or healthcare funding.

Then you will be responsible for the funding. However, we consider your budget.
